Mishna and Talmud

Zionism is the redemption of an ancient nation from a tragic fate and the redemption of a land from a decades-long desolation.

The exhibit presents the Jewish legacy in the Galilee. In all the history of the Galilee, there had never been a culture that had influenced the people of its period and for generations afterwards, to the present, like the culture of the Mishna and the Talmud. During the period of the Mishna and the Talmud, the Galilee had been at the center of exciting in Jewish communities. These communities shaped the Jewish nation culture for many generations, particularly because they had the depth and the motivation to gather their accumulative experience of verbal laws from previous generations, and out them into writing in the Jewish books of Halacha – the Mishna and the Talmud.
